| 0:00.0 | Welcome everyone to the score fantasy football podcast. |
| 0:17.3 | I'm your host, Justin Boone, the lead fantasy analyst at The Score. |
| 0:23.6 | Thank you so much for downloading and listening to the show today. Let me wish you Merry Christmas and a happy holidays to everybody out there. |
| 0:27.6 | This is actually going out after the games on Christmas Day, which was not the original plan. |
| 0:31.6 | I had mentioned on the show recently. |
| 0:33.6 | I was going to record the week 17 preview episode on Tuesday, which was Christmas Eve, but the rankings took me a lot longer than I expected yesterday, and I just ran out of time. I had to make it to a Christmas Eve dinner with my wife's family. So I'm coming here on Christmas Day, which is a little bit odd, but fortunately, these preview episodes, they've been going out on Wednesdays all season long. So I doubt many people are even going to notice the difference here. But I still wanted to let you know what happened there. And this is actually a good thing probably because we have a little more injury information to work with now than what I would have had yesterday when we would have done it. So the rankings, the projections, I would say they're a little bit tighter today than they would have been yesterday. That makes this whole episode that much better. And speaking of that, I published a rankings update this morning before the Christmas Day games kicked off. I'll also be updating those before every game day this week. And there's going to be a bunch more game days. We've got Thursday, Saturday and Sunday still to go. So there's no stop in here. We are going right up until Sunday with the rankings. And this is our last episode of 2024. There's not going to be the start sits dash quit show. It's not going to be the injury update show. They're not going to happen this week because of the holidays. But I'm going to have the rankings updated before every single game. And then I'm going to be back in the new year. We're going to have early25 rankings. We're going to have updates to my dynasty trade value charts, my free agency index, NFL prospect analysis, tons of stuff that I love working on. So it's sad to see the main fantasy season go, but I really love diving into that kind of content in January and all off season long. And we're not there yet though, right? We still got to put our best foot forward. We've got to try to win some championships this week. And on today's show, I'm going to go over seven storylines that I think could swing fantasy titles this week, things that are kind of changing ahead of week 17. But before we get into that, let's take a look at my top targets this week, presented by Audible. audible's more to imagine when you listen. And the first player that I think you should be trying to acquire before week 17, I've talked about before on the show. It is Jalen McMillan on the Bucks. And this one is simple. He has somehow not even rostered in 50% of leagues yet. And I'm very surprised by by that not just because I mentioned him on the show |
| 2:34.8 | multiple times this season but because he's got three straight weeks of quality fantasy |
| 2:39.0 | production backing up his case now he's been a top 20 fantasy receiver in each of his past |
| 2:43.7 | three games and the Panthers aren't that scary of a matchup this week so I don't care how good |
| 2:48.4 | your receiving core is he should be picked up he is a wide receiver three with wide receiver two upside and even if you're not going to start him this week you should be preventing your opponent from using him against you so don't let him sit out there on the waiver wire and like I said he's only roster right now in 49% of leagues at the moment so if he's out there go and get him I'm going to stay on the rookie receivers for this next one as well. And we're going to stay in the same game, Bucks versus Panthers. I'm going with Carolina's first round pick Xavier Legat. He is 22% rostered. He was injured. So I think some people dropped him. He missed last week's game there with hip and wrist injuries. But he was listed as a full participant Wednesday's practice. That's a good sign of where they think he is right now. And if he plays, he's going to come back to a team that has shown a lot more juice lately on offense. You have Bryce Young starting to find his rhythm. Plus the matchup with Tampa is very enticing here. They give up the 10th most fantasy points to wide |
| 3:41.3 | outs and the last time these two teams squared off back in week 13, which was not that long ago, |
| 3:46.1 | Liget had a pretty decent game and four catches for 53 yards, but he also drew eight targets. |
| 3:50.8 | So it could have been a lot bigger there. This game has a nice total to 48.5 projected points. |
| 3:56.1 | So Liget, a very intriguing intriguing ad and if he can't go |
| 3:59.4 | then his rookie teammate jalen cocker he would be a boomer bust wide receiver 4 flex option for |
| 4:04.1 | fantasy and then to finish this off i'll give you two more midweek waiver wire pickup so do a two |
| 4:08.9 | for one to finish it off here these guys could potentially sneak into your starting lineup this |
| 4:13.0 | week and i've talked about the Raiders backfield before. |
| 4:15.5 | Alexander Madison, though, just rostered in 50% of leagues. Amir Abdullah, just 27% rostered right now. Both guys finished his top 20 fantasy backs last week. Madison took advantage of that good matchup. He delivered 56 yards and a score on 16 touches. Ab went for 85 yards and a score on 12 touches. Now they get the Saints at week 17 and that Saints team, they look like they're ready for the off season. New Orleans just got blown out by Green Bay on Monday night. It's going to be a short week for them. They got to find a way to try to bounce back. I think that's to be tough but even if they were rested I'd still like this matchup because the |
| 4:50.1 | Saints are allowing the fifth most fantasy points to running backs and they have |
| 4:53.4 | just been crushed on the ground since they're by they've given up 85 yards |
| 4:57.4 | and or a touchdown to six different runners over the last four weeks so Madison |
