Summary
Erika Schickel (“The Big Hurt,” “You’re Not the Boss of Me”) talks about her memoir, “The Big Hurt,” the story of how she blew up her marriage and life for the twisted love of an infamous novelist, only to realize the deeper pattern of abuse and neglect that led her there. The Big Hurt confronts the trope of the “bad girl/tainted woman” in a society that judges her harshly but rarely asks what happened to make her “bad.”
