Today on the James Altiger Show.

You know, a lot of people talk in big fancy words about climate change or the environment

and they just sort of assume there's nothing more to talk about.

The world's either getting hotter or colder, the ice caps are melting.

I wrote in a book, this is in 2009, that it's important to look at all angles of this

issue and all the research, not just the research that says New York City will be underwater

or the earth's going to be 20 degrees hotter next year or whatever.

So I really appreciate it having Bullet Surprise winner Elizabeth Colbert on the podcast.

She wrote the book The Sixth Extinction, which she won the Bullet Surprise for, which is

about how man-made technology is changing the earth in a lot of negative ways.

But this new book Under a White Sky, The Nature of the Future, is all about the positive

impact that a lot of man-made technology is having on saving species from going into extinction

or there's technologies for sucking carbon emissions out of the air.

Like there are all of these technologies and the people behind those technologies who

are quickly developing ideas and are creative that could maybe help us in the current disasters

that could happen.

And regardless of what you believe or disbelief, it's reality that a lot of species are

going extinct and that we do want to have better uses of carbon emissions than just clogging

up the atmosphere.

So it's really worth paying attention to this stuff and listening to people like Elizabeth
