On this episode with Symbolical World Podcast, I'll be playing for you the second part of a conference in which I participated in Seattle called Shared Inheritance, which was organized by Byzantine Catholics, but also had Orthodox speakers there as well.

In the last podcast, I played for you the first part, which was called Anthropology of Mysticism, looking at how

mystical Christianity offers a map of the human person, which is helpful. So I talked about

memory and the heart and attention. And in this version, in the second part of what I'm doing,

I look mostly at what you could call the peripheral elements, looking at problems of culture,

problems of what happens when the image or the map of the person offered by tradition is denied or ignored or destroyed.

And what that looks like. And so I look at the problems of culture we

are facing entertainment culture and a kind of nihilism around us and hopefully offering some

means in which to answer that in terms of a cultural answer you could call it so I I think you might enjoy this discussion. As you know,
