Our guest today is Terry Brooks.

His first novel, The Sword of Channera, played an important role in establishing fantasy as a major publishing category, and 23 of his novels have now appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list.

His latest book, The Dark Legacy of Shannera, Words of Fairy, is out now.

Hi, nice to be here, David.

Okay, so first of all, just tell us about your new novel,

Words of Ferry. What's it about?

This is the first in a trilogy that I have been thinking about for quite a bit of time.

It's in the future of the Shaner world and not in the prehistory where I have been working.

It is a direct sequel to the Hydruid set of books.

And it's about a topic that has been discussed

ever since I wrote Elfstones back in the day, 1982 or whatever it was

what it was published, about the Elfstones themselves, which were forged in the ancient world of fairy before humans and nobody else would happen to them.
