And like usual, I like to start things off by talking about the state of consoles in 2005, based on the companies and what they're doing.

So I'm going to start with Nintendo.

So they're still struggling with the GameCube.

Even if it's the exclusive home for Resident Evil 4 for about 10 months, they're still having a hard time in relying on the Game Boy Advance and the many things happening there. So the Wii is not announced until April of 2006, but until then Nintendo has some exclusives for the hardcore gamers among us like Killer 7, Star Fox assault, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Game Boy Advance still a thing, still very big, even though the DS is out.

And until 2006, the Game Boy Advance is the only place to go to play new Pokemon games,

which is why Pokemon Emerald is the third highest selling game of 2005.

And we start to see the ascent of the DS because Nintendo Dogs comes out in Japan and America in 2005.

Brain Age comes out in Japan in 2005 and then in America in 2006.

So we're seeing these quote unquote casual games making this thing a phenomenon ever so slowly.

Brain Age was a huge deal when it came out.

It was remarkable to me.

Now, I mean, of course, in the age of apps, we wouldn't think about it too much because

But it was so cool and so novel to log in every day and have the professor telling you what's up with your brain, doing the little
