Summary

One of the things that leads the way that I parent my children is the desire for them to feel safe and to openly communicate with me about anything that they have going on in their lives. I want to be a safe place.

On today's episode, Bethany Adkins and Lindsey Maestas are talking about how to be intentional with your children, to foster openness as they get older, how conflict is a part of every home but how you respond to that conflict is what matters most. And we also discuss how to find balance in parenting children when you don't see eye-to-eye with your spouse.

Bethany and Lindsey both struggle with patience and gentleness, but managing tantrums with grace and having those hard conversations with grace is a part of our journey. We are learning and growing and we want to share that with all of you!

**P.S. Please forgive my audio quality on this episode, I forgot my microphone at home and was at the office. So sorry!**

leads the way that I parent my children is the desire for them to grow up and to feel safe,

0:15.6

to come and talk to me about anything that they have going on in their lives. I want to be a

intentional with your little ones to foster openness as they get older. We talk about how conflict

most. We talk about raising our children differently than our spouses and finding that sense of

0:43.2

compromise. And what I love the most, you guys, is that we are not coming at this from a place of

0:48.6

having it all together. Bethany and I both agreed that we kind of laughed as we were thinking through

0:54.8

these questions in this conversation topic because we both struggle with patience and with

1:00.3

gentleness with our children and not going zero to 100, but managing with grace and dealing with

1:07.5

tantrums with grace and the hard conversations with grace and that we are fighting for that as well.

1:14.0

So you guys can come along on the journey with us knowing we do not have it all together,

1:18.9

but that we are learning and growing from other resources and people around us and we wanted to share

1:24.4

that with all of you. So let's dive into today's conversation.

1:34.8

We were never promised that life would be easy, but when we do it together, it becomes much easier.

1:41.2

I genuinely believe that we have to be intentional about creating a joyful life. I believe in happy

parenting, healthy marriages, long-lasting friendships, and making perfect memories in imperfect

tombs, but those things require deep, holy, heartwork. I am passionate when it comes to sharing

vulnerably about the things that people are not always comfortable discussing, and I am passionate

about sharing practical wisdom that has helped me to help you navigate through life less stressfully
