| 1:15.6 | This is a topic that I think most people want to know more about because it's kind of like you get BSE advice like, well it's all about having a firm handshake and good eye contact. |
| 1:24.6 | Which isn't terrible advice. It's just really incomplete. So I think it's good to have you guys talk about this at a detailed level and really break it down so that people can sort of sharpshoot the individual factors involved in their first impression. |
| 1:37.6 | Yeah, I think a lot of us believe that a first impression starts when we actually introduce ourselves to someone and reality your first impression starts when they see you for the first time. |
| 1:47.6 | So we really want to focus on four main components to that first impression so that we make an impact and we've all heard that saying you don't get a second chance to make a good first impression. |
| 1:57.6 | Remember my dad telling me that when I was growing up same thing right I need to learn how to give a firm handshake. I need to learn how to walk up to someone confidently. |
| 2:05.6 | But in reality it really starts before you even walk in the room it starts with your static component we call it and that's just your genes and your looks right. |
| 2:15.6 | Your genes are responsible for your looks so we're not going to bullshit you and say looks don't matter. You've heard that advice looks don't matter but looks do matter. |
| 2:22.6 | So it's important that if we want to present ourselves confidently that we take care of ourselves and we do the best we can with the genes that we are given. |
| 2:30.6 | And there's really three things that we can do here to impact our genes and ultimately our looks and you've heard this advice all over the place we're certainly not experts on these three things but we want to raise awareness because these do play a crucial role in that first impression and the first one obviously is exercise. |
| 2:47.6 | Making sure that we move our body allows us to feel good in our bodies so that we're going to make that confident first impression. |
| 2:53.6 | Well, and it also goes to help feeling good inside and mentally feeling good and being alert we can get really lethargic for not exercising brain starts the shutdown body starts the shutdown and then of course we can end up in depression when we're not moving getting those chemicals moving. |
| 3:09.6 | Yeah, and there are three things that really are stimulated through exercise that are really important to us approaching strangers and starting a conversation. |
| 3:17.6 | The first we are all aware of is testosterone. So how does testosterone make us better socially? Well, it makes us less risk averse. |
