Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I'm a meditation teacher who shares a different meditation technique every day and every technique is customized around our weekly theme.

0:18.6

So our themes change out every single week. And our theme for this week in

0:24.2

this episode, as I record this, is episode 626. And our theme is resilience. When you're going through a difficult time, it's often hard to remember that

0:44.3

you have everything you need within you and you can start to lose your confidence and not pull

0:53.2

from your own resilience. So in every single episode this

0:57.9

week, you'll discover a different technique to help you become more resilient. And yesterday,

1:06.4

we launched into the theme and I gave you a lot of context and a lot of different examples from

1:13.9

messages that listeners of the podcast sent to me about their own challenges with resilience

1:21.8

and so this whole week I'll be offering a different technique.

1:27.8

Every single Monday, this is for Monday's recording, I share an affirmation meditation.

1:34.6

Affirmations are positive statements that remind you of what you're focusing on.

1:43.7

Research shows that over 80% of our thoughts

1:46.9

we think each day are negative,

1:49.5

and that over 90% of those negative thoughts are repetitive.

1:55.5

So you could say many of us go around

1:58.1

repeating negative thoughts each day,

2:00.5

and that's especially true if you feel

2:03.1

your confidence faltering. If you feel like you're in a really challenging situation that

2:09.0

kind of can get you down, you can feel as though you're not sure how to get back on track,

2:21.0

how to get back to where you feel more like yourself again, where you feel more confident and secure.

2:25.4

So we're going to be repeating an affirmation together.

2:29.2

We repeat it the same way I share an affirmation every week.
