Hello, hello, this is Owen Junk, welcome to the podcast. Today, Dave Ward is the leader

of one of Britain's biggest trade unions, the Communication and Workers Union. That

represents everyone from posties to telecommunications workers. What I want to talk to him is about

the fact that key workers like those he represents who are applauded by ministers and private sector

bosses then get screwed over about a new deal for workers about how trade unions can fight back

after the pandemic and also about Labour now. He tells me he thinks Labour are in danger of

becoming irrelevant, pretty damning words. It's really important that trade unions, the biggest

democratic movement in the country actually have a voice, so I'm really glad we could have a chat.
