In this three-part series, Daniel and his wife AnnaMarie discuss his early years as a church member in Idaho and as a missionary in Japan, his time as an LDS Church employee, and the factors that led him and his family away from LDS Church activity.

2:07.0 | And a lot of people said you need to do a Mormon Stories interview and so we connected up and he said he'd be willing, which I think is really courageous and cool. |

2:22.0 | I will just say personally I've read over Daniel's outline of what he wants to talk about. |
2:29.0 | I don't think that he's interested in slamming the church, of trashing the church, of just sort of focusing on the negative. |
2:38.0 | I think that he just feels like it was an interesting experience. |
2:42.0 | He learned a lot. He saw things that deserve respect and things that were a little bit troubling. |
2:48.0 | But most importantly, at least as far as I'm concerned, my intent is simply that people give billions of dollars a year to the LDS Church. |
2:58.0 | And there isn't a ton of transparency. |
3:01.0 | And so the extent to which people are willing to talk about their experiences just provide some transparency into how their money gets spent. |
