Hello everyone welcome to Fit Body Happy Joints. My name is Shannon. Today we have a very exciting guest

0:05.6

Doug Brignoli. I will tell you about Doug here in a second. But before I do I just want to say that

0:11.5

the information that I've learned from Doug in his book has been a lot of the

0:16.7

foundation of my classes and how I teach and what I believe in with fitness.

0:22.6

I was first exposed to biomechanics

0:25.7

and how physics influences the body and exercise

0:29.6

after physical therapy school, kind of in my first job and I was yearning for more to

0:36.3

learn even more about it because I knew like what it's it's one of those things

0:39.8

that the more you learn the more you learn that you don't know and so after I was

0:44.5

exposed to it I was really digging digging digging and I came across this book the

physics of resistance exercise and it is so so good and it's his book is a lot of like oh that just makes sense so I wanted to bring him on the

podcast I was thrilled that he agreed and we had like a conversation for like an entire hour.

1:25.6

Everybody's quad functions pretty much the same. So it's like no matter who you are,

1:30.4

physics play a role in your body and it's important to understand and that's kind of

1:36.2

what we talked about in this conversation. Now we talked for a long time and what I

1:41.6

decided to do because there was so much goodness from our conversation, I decided to kind of cut this podcast into separate parts.

1:49.0

So this first part will be, we're talking about like functional exercise and and then we will

1:55.2

do kind of subsequent parts after this week. So Doug is super impressive. He is
