The union announced late yesterday that a tentative deal has been reached.

A source tells CNN that includes a $4 per hour raise for each year of the six-year contract.

That works out to a first year raise of just over 10% of the current contract's top pay.

With the five following pay hikes raising wages by 62%

over the life of the new contract.

The 50,000 dock workers at ports from Maine to Texas had been on strike since early Tuesday morning, which threatened

the supply of everything from bananas to liquor to European luxury cars and could have led to

price hikes. While the final deal is still being worked out, the port worker's current

contract has been extended to January 15th. Israel says about 20 missiles were fired into the country

from Lebanon this morning. On top of the 230

projectiles it says were fired yesterday. Video from Reuters show rockets being

intercepted by Israel's defense system over the northern city of Haifa

around sunrise local time.

Meanwhile, an aerial warfare expert tells CNN that Israel's aerial campaign in Lebanon

is at an intensity comparable only to the first weeks of its

bombardment of Gaza last year.
