With just two days to go before the long-awaited ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is slated

to start, Israel's security cabinet is meeting to discuss the deal.

That's according to an Israeli official, with the talks taking place before tomorrow's

wider cabinet vote to approve the agreement.

Well, Joe, the Israeli Prime Minister's office says hostages are expected to be released from

Gaza as early as Sunday, just as long as both cabinets in Israel approve the deal that is

expected. Internal political issues, though, and threats from one

far-right cabinet minister to resign if the deal goes ahead has caused some complications.

The Biden administration insists the deal is on track. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken says

he is confident the deal will go ahead on Sunday.

President-elect Donald Trump's choice for Homeland Security Secretary will be grilled by senators today at her confirmation hearing. South Dakota Governor Christy Noem has been loyal to Trump for a long time, and she's expected to help carry out his immigration promises.

It comes after a week of hearings for some of Trump's other picks, like Pete Heggseth for

Defense Secretary, Pam Bondi for Attorney General, Marco Rubio for Secretary of State,

and Scott Besant for Treasury Secretary.
