From CNN, I'm Fez Jameel with the five things you need to know for Monday, August 19th.

This is a decisive moment, probably the best, maybe the last opportunity to get the hostages home, to get a ceasefire.

That was Secretary of State Antony Blaken, who's visiting Israel to try and get a

deal over the line. Blaken earlier met with Israel's President Isaac Herzog this

morning and is meeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister

Yowav Galant.

It's also time to make sure that no one takes any steps that could derail this process. His visit comes on the heels of an initial round of high-level negotiations,

along with Qatar and Egypt that wrapped up in Doha last week.

Meanwhile, Blinken's visit comes as casualties continue to mount in Gaza, with

medical officials saying seven members of the same family, including six children,

were killed in an Israeli air strike yesterday.

In the US, protests over the ongoing war in Gaza are expected in Chicago,

right outside where the Democratic National Convention gets underway later today.
