I don't want to talk about bicycles, but I feel like, oh, it's my zone.

A bicycle activist got a big play in the Star Tribune today.

A highland park resident named Tom Bazgan is helping to organize her safer bike lanes

on Summit Avenue.

And there's a picture of this fellow posed with the so-called Ghost Bike, right, that's

on the corner of Summit and Selling.

That's in memory of cyclist Alan Grunn, who died what?

He did me.

Yes.

And what, well, and to the best we can determine from the reporting of the facts, the cyclist

was at fault.

I'm sorry he's gone and well love guy, all that.

It's a shame.

But why is a Ghost Bike put up in memory of a guy who essentially brought about his own

demise and why is his death being used to justify the idea that cyclists need more protection

on Summit Avenue?

This was an entirely preventable accident.

And there was nothing you could do in the intersection.

You can't create a bicycle unless you're going to build a tunnel or a bridge.
