Hi, and welcome to Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

Question, are you a winger or a planner?

Now, before you answer that, think about some things like your family, your home, your vacations, your career path.

Certainly some things we wing, but most of these things, at least to some degree, we like to plan out.

At what age we might like to get married, if that's something we want to do, how many kids we want to

have, again, if we desire to have children, where we would love to live if we can, what our

dream house might look like, what kind of dog we want to buy, what kind of car, some people

care about such things, not me, where we want to go to college and what we want to do for a living.

Now that I've listed these things for you, you realize that you plan and prepare for more than you thought, right?

Well, today we're going to talk about the one area of our life we actually do wing instead of prepare for much more than we should.

You ready? So I kind of have a system, non-system for reading my Bible, and it's basically this.

I start in either the Old or New Testament, I read it through and then I go to the other

and read it through.

And so I'm just in a kind of a constant state of reading my Bible through constantly.

Sometimes it may take me months, sometimes it's a year or longer, but I just keep reading

it through over and over again.

I love that the word is always fresh and there's always new things to discover every

time that I read it. Don't you love that? I have my Bible from 1996. I just love it, a sorely

outdated version of the new living translation that I read from and of course other versions as well.

But there's always that point in my Bible reading when I get

to the book of Leviticus that I appreciate something that I did a few years back in that 1996
