Hi, and welcome to Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word,

prayers, and our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. So I want to share with you one of my

favorite verses in the Bible today. It's a good one and lots of you agree. I know, but man,

it's a power-packed prayer and promise and encouragement. I mean, since I'm a woman with a sweet

tooth, I kind of think of it like the most gorgeous, decadent dessert with all the best ingredients in

it. So you know what comes out has to be good. Now, you really want to know what that verse is, right?

I won't leave you in suspense, Romans 1513, in my opinion, one of the best verses in all the

Bible for the reasons I just gave and others is this, may the God of hope fill you with all joy

and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I mean, this verse just makes me breathe easier.

It makes me remember why I'm okay ultimately and that no matter what happens today, I hold

a promise greater than myself or my circumstances.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace. Yes, please, I need joy and peace

today. As you trust in him, trust seems to always be a component of our faith, right? So that you may

overflow with hope. Goodness, I'm not even sure how to fully process what that looks or feels like in my

human skin. And then, of course, by the power of the Holy Spirit, as always, the only way that we're

able to have any of the promises of this verse in our life. So I want to process for a minute,

this idea of having hope and what that looks like, because

I think a lot of us don't feel hopeful a lot of days.

According to Romans 1513, hope is more than a feeling.

So maybe this is where we go wrong.
