Stepping up police presence in Minneapolis.

After a gunman shot 20 people at Annunciation Church Wednesday,

killing an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is sending extra police to patrol schools and religious sites in the city.

Saying in a statement that no child in America should go to school apprehensive of danger

of losing a classmate.

This after the Minnesota Catholic Conference, a public policy voice of the Catholic Church

in Minnesota.

In a letter dated April 14th, 2023, asked the governor to provide security to private schools

and to churches in the wake of the

Tennessee mass shooting. A plea the conference says was ignored. Jeff Monoso, Fox News.

Investigators are pouring through hundreds of pieces of evidence as I tried to understand the

shooter's motive. Acting U.S. attorney Joe Thompson says they know one thing for sure. In short, the shooter

appeared to hate all of us. Police also believe the shooter who took his own life, acted alone,

idolized mass murderers, and wanted to terrorize children. A standoff in Walton, Kentucky

overnight ends with the gunman also dying by suicide after he shot and injured two

sheriff's deputies. Major Philip Rigel with the Boone County Sheriff's Department says the deputies

were trying to serve a warrant when the gunman opened fire. It was a child support warrant

with a $14,000 bond on it that they were attempting to execute. The deputies are in stable condition.
