You'll learn how to find calm right where you are, regardless of whether you are in your quiet meditation space, or whether you're in a crowd of people. So this is going to be a calm meditation series.

Now, if you've been following me for a while, you know that we just came off a pretty intense

several weeks where many of you who are listeners celebrated major holidays in December

and then a brand new year and we did a goal setting meditation series last week and I know that can take

a lot of energy a lot of focus as you set new year's resolutions well I think it's time for you

to treat yourself to some calm, to relax, and just take

it a little bit easy this week and let the goals that you worked on, the New Year's resolutions,

kind of just seep in and just allow yourself to adjust as you transition to a new year to all the new

plans and goals you have for yourself.

Now it's a Sunday as I record this as we launch into a brand new meditation series.

Every Sunday we do this and I always start with a mindset, a visualization and

reflecting on what you will need to think about as you do a calm meditation series. So every day this week you'll learn a different

meditation technique as you focus on calm. So go ahead and let's get you meditating. Sit up straight.

You might be lying down and you might be walking. However you're doing this meditation, notice your posture, notice your spine.

Try to straighten your spine.

This helps to energize your body and to give you focus and clarity.

Close your eyes gently and as they're closed just keep them slightly elevated.

This keeps your thoughts uplifted.

And now we'll relax the different areas of your body where you are likely to hold tension.
