My name's Anthony Caravella, and I'm a filmmaker.

Anthony, it's great to see you.

And I know you've been wanting to talk to me about a particular case for quite a period of time,

and I've been putting you off until you had enough information to allow me to do what's

called an equivocal death investigation, where you don't know whether you know the cause of

death, you don't know the manner of death. So the cause of death is

actually the mechanism that actually ended the life. But the manner of death is one of five things.

It's homicide, suicide, natural, accidental, or undetermined.

Undetermined is when there isn't enough information to make a determination, and the other

ones are basically self-explanatory.

So the way we do those investigations is called an equivocal death investigation.

And as part of that, you basically do what's called a psychological autopsy.

You try to determine what the state of mind of the individual is.

And things just got critical very recently, right um so i guess i'll backtrack a little bit here um about 17 years ago
