Hi, this is Alonzo Bowden. I want to welcome you to my podcast. Who's Paying Attention? This is episode 58 and a lot going on,

a lot in the news to talk about. So let's get right to it. Tragically, another mass shooting.

Aaron Alexis shot 12 people at the Washington, D.C. Naval Yard, and then he himself was shot.

And, you know, the tragedy is that once again, innocent people went to work and will never come home.

And that's the reality of it, and that's a tragedy.

And these are people, you know, with families and with lives and who did

nothing but show up in their ordinary day and we'll never know why he did it. We'll never know

why he shot these people, why he snapped. There'll be all kind of talk and this is a, but the reality

is and this is tragic and I do not discount the sadness of the families of the people lost.

But let's be honest, same old, same old business as usual.

Another mass shooting, and we all know what's going to happen.

There's going to be talk.

Congress will talk about, you know, gun laws and background checks and so on.

And the NRA will say that has nothing to do with it.

And in the end, nothing will be done.

And it's very interesting.

I read a few different

um articles about this but it was interesting to read basically two writers who who went to the same

place but different points of view one a guy named adam winkler and adam said that this is just

america's new normal and and i that this is just America's new normal,

and I fully agree with that.

Let's stop pretending that we're shocked or that we care about these mass killings,
