| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Meckley and I'm a meditation teacher who shares a different meditation technique every single day customized around a weekly theme. |
| 0:16.0 | And in today's meditation, I share a mudra meditation technique. |
| 0:22.6 | Mudras are simply ways that you position your hands that activate your nervous system in a similar way as if you're doing yoga or having acupressure done. |
| 0:36.0 | And today's episode is episode 579. And our theme for the whole week |
| 0:44.3 | is goal setting. So we just entered the new year 2016. And so we're setting some goals some new year's resolutions this year and so every |
| 0:59.1 | day we're focusing on a meditation technique to help us do that and the technique for today the |
| 1:08.3 | mudra that we'll be doing is called the Kubeh Mudra. |
| 1:12.6 | And it's a pretty simple mudra to do, but as always, all the different meditation techniques |
| 1:17.8 | are over on my website at Sipanome.com. |
| 1:21.9 | So you can see a photo of the meditation technique being done, the mudra being done. |
| 1:27.1 | I'll explain how to do it to you. |
| 1:29.0 | Like I said, it's a pretty easy mudra. Some mudras you kind of have to see to do them. |
| 1:34.7 | Now as always, you never have to do the meditation techniques. They're always an option for you. |
| 1:41.6 | You can do the meditation, just guide it without the technique. You'll receive |
| 1:46.1 | the same benefits. But I do like to share techniques and I find that most people benefit |
| 1:54.3 | from them enormously, not just in a small way, but in a big way. It can even be the turning point for your meditation ritual. |
| 2:04.3 | And the reason why is because meditation techniques help to transition you. |
| 2:10.6 | So when you get ready to sit down and meditate and you're having a hard time letting go of your to-do list or you're feeling stressed and you're having trouble calming down and you're feeling fidgety or whatever it may be. |
| 2:27.4 | When you do a meditation technique, it helps to focus your mind. |
| 2:33.0 | And another reason that I share meditation techniques is because you can do these techniques throughout your day. |
| 2:43.0 | Especially mudras, they're very portable. |
| 2:46.0 | You can do them right smack in the middle of the busiest part of your day. And that helps you remember your intention and to center yourself and connect you again to the best part of who you are. |
