Summary

I had the pleasure and privilege of being the start and finish line race announcer at the inaugural WineShine Half Marathon in Napa Valley this past weekend — and bonus! The day before the race, I got to host a live show at the Silverado Resort and Spa with superstar guests Alysia Montaño and Stephanie Howe. We talked a lot about the highs that come with racing (like Stephanie's Western States win, and the time Alysia ran the 800m in the U.S. National Championships at eight months pregnant), and we talk about the tough stuff. The ruts. The losses. The disappointments. Alysia and Stephanie are proof that this sport can make your dreams come true and break your heart a few times along the way.

announcer at the inaugural Weinstein Half-Marathon in Napa, California, and I was not backing out on that. So in the middle of everything, I boarded a plane, I flew to San Francisco, I got a rental car, I drove up to Napa, and I hosted this live show that you are about to hear with Alicia Montagno and Stephanie Howe. You will get to know them very well in this conversation, so we will just roll right into it. But I do want to thank the Weinstein Half-Marathon for having me. Even though the past eight,

or so days have been totally chaotic and I barely know where I am right now, I had so much fun. The race was wonderfully done. People seemed happy. It was a beautiful day. And while no, I did not have time to drink or bring back any good Napa wine. I had a darn good 36 hours. And well, I was going to say the Bay Area, but it's not, but I drove through there.

I'm doing my best here. I am hoping to bring you some world championships conversations later this week. I will of course have some solo episodes talking all about what I'm doing in here. Hopefully I will bring in some guests. Let's see what happens. But first, please enjoy this live show conversation with Alicia Montagno and Stephanie Howe.
