Summary

On the side of a narrow forest road near Lake Annecy, a man came upon a grisly scene. A BMW Estate had reversed into an embankment, its wheels still spinning in the mud. In front of the car was the lifeless body of a cyclist. On the other side he saw a young girl covered in blood. She gave a couple of steps, then collapsed. Inside the car were three people, all dead. What happened on the roadside on this warm autumn afternoon in this peaceful, scenic region of France?
