His split-second decision to continue the pursuit, even though he was dangerously low on fuel, saved lives and brought an end to a violent rampage.

really, really surprised myself. The pickup was kind of sideways to me, and I really didn't have a

good target. I mean, all I knew was I wanted to keep them out of that house. And the target that I had

was shadows underneath between the wheels of the pickup.
