And the topic I want to talk about today is how to create a healthy sense of urgency.

You know, contrary to popular belief, a sense of urgency isn't always helpful to living the game

change your life and to getting the results you want to get.

A healthy sense of urgency is helpful.

An unhealthy sense can actually really be detrimental to morale and your

culture and results overall. Now, ultimately, it's going to be a leader's approach in any given

organization or department to their responsibilities that determines whether or not the right

type of urgency prevails. However, I want to go over steps everyone can take, regardless of one's position, to do their part to contribute to a healthier sense of urgency. You need urgency. Now, I will tell you that very often we don't have it, And it's normally because of past success, low performance

standards, lack of accountability, aloof leaders. We're focused more on the scoreboard than on the

game. There's no visible crisis. There are a lot of reasons. We may not have urgency. And you don't

want to wait until time is running out, which is what a lot of folks do, to kick it in and all of a sudden find some heart, find some urgency.

You want urgency to be a rhythm that just continually beats through your organization in a positive way, though, not in a negative way.
