Buckle up, friend! I have big news...   God and I had a business meeting this morning and He told me to STOP.   This morning, I was led to Deuteronomy. Moses wrote the Book of Deuteronomy, which is a collection of his sermons to Israel just before they crossed the Jordan. These sermons were given during the 40-day period prior to Israel’s entering the Promised Land.   I feel like I’m sitting at the crossroads of my own Promised Land. So close I can almost touch it, yet so far I want to run towards it. It’s like God’s been waiting, preparing me, making sure I am steady in hand and heart before taking me there.   In all honesty, I’ve been pushing forward in my own strength. Doing everything to get there faster. Pushing, leaning into anything that I think will help get there. Things that I felt unsure about… is this me? Or is this God?   This morning I heard, “wait on the Lord’.    As I read from the bible, I began underlining phrases that stood out from the book of Deuteronomy…   “…you must be careful to obey when you live in the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.” -Deut 12:1   “...you must destroy all the places where they worship their gods” -Deut 12:2   “Today all of you are doing as you please, because you have not yet arrived at the place of rest, the land the Lord your God is giving you..” -Deut 12:8-9   “Completely erase the names of their gods! “Do not worship the Lord your God in the way these pagan peoples worship their gods” -Deut 12:4   “There you and your families will feast in the presence of the Lord your God, and you will rejoice in all you have accomplished because the Lord your God has blessed you.” Deut 12:7   What idol, Lord? What God are my people idolizing more than you?
