She served as the deputy administrator of NASA from 2009 to 2013 and is known as an architect

of the new era of commercial partnerships that allows SpaceX to carry astronauts to and

She's also the founder of the Earthrise Alliance, a philanthropic initiative using satellite

data to address climate change and co-founder of the Brook Owens Fellowship, an internship

and mentorship program for collegiate women interested in pursuing space careers.
