If you don't want to have your own blog, you don't want to start a sub-stack or something,

you can go write on medium. But I didn't realize there was a direct monetization incentive

for doing so. You break down how that works? Yeah, they wanted to create a platform where writers

were paid to write. They didn't have to do any gimmicky stuff to grab eyeballs or get advertisers

just so that writers could get paid to write, which I really like that philosophy. And there

have been a couple iterations on how they actually do that. But the current one is pretty straightforward.

Members paid $5 a month to get access to all the content on medium. And then writers get paid

based on how many minutes members spend reading their content. So just how much time people engage

with your content? Okay, so this is really similar to Skillshare in a way. And even YouTube premium

to a certain extent, I like Skillshare specifically because you pay your eight or 10 bucks a month,

you have unlimited access to all these courses. So similar on medium. And then on Skillshare,

the course creators are getting paid based on watch time. We got all this money coming in and

we'll give you the out based on where people are spending their time. So it sounds like

similar here. And so that's really, that's really interesting. I didn't know that it was a pay
