In my distress I called to the Lord,
and he answered me.
2 Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given to you,
and what more shall be done to you,
you deceitful tongue?
4 A warrior's sharp arrows,
with glowing coals of the broom tree!
5 Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech,
that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6 Too long have I had my dwelling
among those who hate peace.
7 I am for peace,
but when I speak, they are for war!

| 0:11.4 | We're going to do that today by looking at Psalm |
| 0:13.8 | chapter 121. Psalm 1-21 is a Psalm of ascent which is one of the |
| 0:21.6 | categorizations of the Psalms that scholars have placed on them. |
| 0:25.3 | It basically means a song they sang while ascending to the temple for worship. |
| 0:30.7 | And in this Psalm, it puts a lot of focus on God being our faithful |
| 0:36.7 | protector and keeper. Let's read the entire Psalm. It's only eight short verses long |
| 0:42.2 | and we will come back and comment on some of it. |
| 0:44.9 | It says, I lift up my eyes to the hills. |
| 0:48.8 | From where does my help come? |
| 0:51.0 | My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved. |
| 0:57.6 | He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold he who keeps Israel would neither slumber nor sleep. |
| 1:04.8 | The Lord is your keeper. |
| 1:06.5 | The Lord is your shade on your right hand. |
| 1:09.5 | The sun shall not strike you by day nor the moon by night. |
| 1:13.9 | The Lord will keep you from all evil. |
| 1:16.0 | He will keep your life. |
| 1:18.1 | The Lord will keep your going out |
| 1:19.8 | and you're coming in from this time forth and forever more. |
| 1:25.0 | That's it, eight very short verses. |
| 1:28.1 | And the point is that all of our help |
