This can't be paradise.

It just doesn't make any sense.

It just doesn't.

That's the first thing.

Here's the second thing he's saying.

That whatever this is about,

this futility and this decay and this pain, you can't understand

it without eternity. And this passage, I don't know if you've noticed this, is dyed

with forever. It has, from beginning to end, the colors of forever staining it.

Because Paul is so careful in his biblical thinking, Paul is so aware of God's agenda

that he can't allow himself to think about now without thinking about now through the lens

of then.

That's just instinctive to the way he thinks.
