Summary

Can we even operationalize "frustration" in order to define "frustration tolerance"? What does that look like? How do we measure it? Can we, should we, expose a dog to frustration in training to teach them to tolerate frustration? For full show notes, visit: www.wonderpupstraining.com/podcast/50

Hey guys. You are listening to drinking from the toilet. I'm Hannah Branigan, and I'm here to talk about the reality of training with

positive reinforcement. This is episode number 50. Oh yeah, the big 5-0. And in addition to

0:29.6

being a nice round number, which is worth celebrating in and of itself, it also happens to

0:34.6

mark this podcast's first birthday. Yes, we have been doing this for one whole entire year,

0:42.3

which is about 11 months longer than I thought I'd be able to keep this up.

1:17.3

and maybe hook you up with a drinking from the toilet t-shirt.

1:20.9

So if you're there, come find me.

1:22.8

If I'm not standing by the bar, I'm probably hanging out by the snack table.

1:32.0

published schedule. So on to this week's episode. This week's topic is frustration. And

1:38.3

1:44.0

cropping up periodically in both the

1:45.7

dog and human world. And usually in the form of articles or Facebook posts, usually blaming parents

1:52.6

or dog owners for failing to teach their charges to tolerate frustration and thus leading to the

1:57.6
