| 0:00.0 | As we know throughout the years, wrestling companies have been keen to ban certain things, |
| 0:04.1 | and nine times out of ten it's actually the correct thing to do. Let's take chair shots to the head, we still see them, but when you learn about CTE and obviously the impact on the brain, all of a sudden they're not as cool anymore, and they become kind of scary. When it comes to total non-stop action or TNA though, there are five particular things they have banned that you may not know about, and when you do here, you may stare off into the distance and consider to yourself, well, why the flub would they ban that? It doesn't make any sense. That's why this Bordeaux is here, I'm gonna try and tell you. So please sit down and have a cup of coffee or a drink of water or maybe a wine if it is late. There's a bunch of stuff that T&A went a band. Number five, suggested Twitch skits. |
| 0:39.9 | So Rob Van Dam talked about this in 2022, which was an idea he was pitched to do on Twitch with wife Katie Forbes, which to summarize it as best as I can was to go on there in the middle of the pandemic and to try and get interest in TNA, why don't we do really suggestive stuff? A couple of words I will give you is sexually suggestive content and whipped cream. Then we should leave it there, mostly because YouTube may get mad at us. The reason I say that is because Twitch absolutely got mad at TNA for doing this. They called them up and said, because you have to do that, we are banning you from the platform. And this was a big |
| 1:11.3 | deal for TN at the time, because they were really going out there and trying to make their name even bigger using social media. A female friend got involved as well, but let's not say much more than that, because again, we are walking the plank. And thankfully, after a while, everybody calmed down and TNA will have to go back on Twitch. |
| 1:25.9 | But doesn't that just sum up, |
| 1:27.1 | well, not even 2026, but a few years ago, |
| 1:29.7 | you can't just go online and do whatever the fluff you want. It could go bad. And again, RVD wasn't into this at all. I believe it was on Randy Dupree's podcast where he does get deep down into it. I should not have said the sentence that way. But let's all learn a valuable lesson here, you don't need to go on Twitch especially and do a bunch of |
| 1:46.8 | sexy things. Is that the way I'm going to phrase it? Yes, it is. The headline is, don't do sexy things. Van Damme also made it very clear that he raised his eyebrow out of some of the scripts he had been given. He was a good employee. So if that's where his boss was, that's what they're going to get. I think one of the lines that really may have pushed this over the edge as well was, let's see that Rob Van Dam, and then a word that starts with D. Don't do that. On wrestling TV, I'm laughing because I still can't believe this happened. Number four, slaps. And no, I'm not talking about when a tag team partner slap somebody else's hand or when you get two guys in the ring, they're like, oh man, we're so great, let's push our |
| 2:20.6 | skin together. I'm actually talking about taking your palm and whacking it around someone's cheek. Now, if you still do work for TNA, the rumor is they can still be greenlit. However, you do We need to go get it clear beforehand. |
| 2:31.0 | Of course, I'm going to tell you why. |
| 2:32.2 | Now, all went down in 2025, and it was Fightful Select that had this report. |
| 2:36.0 | But apparently after Ariana Grace and Tessa Blanche should match, some of these, we'll go with the word slaps again, had been so brittle to the face that maybe people in that match were a bit loopy-dupy, and that's not what you want, and we're not meant to be hurting people here, so everybody was told, listen, calm it down, If you really feel like you do need this, come and talk to us, but don't forget it is pro wrestling and you know what we can do? Punches instead. Now, once again, Fightful pointed out that some people have reached out and said that's not true, but other people have reached out and said, oh no, that's absolutely true. And as always, if you really want the evidence, you can watch the product and see it for yourself, or in this case not see it. Apparently as well, some of the wrestlers were told that if they did get in violation |
| 3:11.2 | of these reasons, And as always, if you really want the evidence, you can watch the product and see it for yourself, or in this case not see it. |
| 3:08.4 | Apparently as well, some of the wrestlers were told that if they did get in violation of these roles, they would be charged $100 and nobody was that. And given that this was last year, things can always change. I think it is a day-to-day thing when it comes to pro wrestling. But in many ways, I think this is quite smart. Like, have you seen that Power Slap show where people just get hit around the face with the force of Thor? |
| 3:27.7 | They go down. They're absolutely knocked out. And then the doctors run in and go, we probably shouldn't have done that. I think they're super duper hurt. So it's all well and good rolling your eyes when you hear stuff like this, but it's different if you get slapped in the real world because you'll be all tense and ready to take it, but you give your body to your opponent in pro wrestling. |
| 3:43.4 | So they do strike you when you're a bit limp. |
| 3:45.8 | Nine times out of ten, you are absolutely going to suffer for it. |
| 3:48.3 | Number three, throat cutting. |
| 3:49.7 | And yes, I am talking about the undertaker taunt when he should take his thumb and slit his throat |
| 3:53.4 | because he was about to kill you. |
| 3:54.9 | And this comes from the same fightful Select report that mentioned the slaps and mentioned them $100 fine. So there must have been two bullet points on that memo. One, no slaps and two, stop taking your thumb and rubbing it on your larynx. Now, once again, Carlos Silver made sure he did the media rounds to tell people, it's not really a cut and dry situation. We're just trying to protect our talent. But of course, we as fans notice, well, this is around the same time as TNA and WWE have got in bed with each other, so maybe they're just going to calm things down. Or they try to calm things down. And that would make sense because, of course, one of the big reasons TNA got in bed with WWE is because they wanted to make more money from their television deals and because they wanted to sell more sponsors. |
| 4:47.7 | And do you know what doesn't look good to Skills? Someone from Skills tuning in and seeing this, they're probably not going to one's dead. If nothing else, it's just not a rule worth violating. Unless you are Mark Callow and you are sneaking into TNair, which is not happening, nobody needs to do that. It's just one of those things that you do here from the higher-ups, and you can go, oh my gosh, that's so stupid, but then you can just move on with your life. Number two, blading. So we go back to 2008 when WW did go PG. One of the first that they did ban was blading, which in case you don't know, is taking a razor blade and slicing it across your forehead in order to have the rest stuff pour out during matches. |
