Summary

This week, I got to talk with my good friend, Kaitie Forbes. Kaitie is a Nashville based singer-songwriter and all around wildly talented human. We talk all things Nashville, share our favorite albums, and finish with a deep dive in to the answers to the weekly question: what is the best smell?  (Listen, this title was the best thing I could come up with considering I have no idea how these topics even correspond to each other.) Anyway, enjoy! Please note: This was my first time recording with someone in a different state so there are a few bits with some audio weirdness.  Follow me on Instagram: @thebadbroadcast Follow Kaitie on Apple Music, Spotify, and on Instagram @kaitieforbesmusic See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Hi everybody, I am here today with my friend and an amazingly talented, beautiful, wonderful,

0:26.1

amazing person. 80 Forbes. Hi everyone. So Katie is a Nashville-based recording artist,

0:35.2

singer, do you consider yourself singer-songwriter? I ask Mad if that's what I should call you.

0:39.7

Yeah, singer-songwriter. Because you write, you write your own stuff. Yeah. Anyways, so you're from here,

0:46.3

but you've been in Nashville how long now? Yeah, I've been here a little over three and a half years,

0:50.9

almost four years. That is crazy. I know. It's so weird. That feels like it's flown by. Yeah, so

0:57.4

what I'm going to do this podcast, I have like three, I already told Katie about this, but just for

1:01.8

everybody listening, I have like three sections. So we're going to start off, people ask you questions,

1:07.5

and I have questions for you. So we're going to go through that, get to know you a little bit more,

1:12.0

and then you wanted to ask people what their favorite album was and talk about your favorite albums

1:17.9

in my favorite albums. Yes. And then our final section, our final chapter is the dumb question I

1:26.7

came up with, which is what is the best smell? It's not a dumb question. It's an important question.

1:34.3

We have a good variety here. We've got a good variety of topics here. So first, I say, let's just

1:42.0

dive in to getting to know you. Okay, yeah, ask away. Okay. Okay. So first question is how did you

1:49.6

know that it was time to move to Nashville? Wow. Okay. So I wanted to move to Nashville since I was 18,

1:57.1

and I was in a band for five years in Utah. I tried to convince the band to move here. We were

2:05.3

actually all going to move out here together. And I was like about to, I was dating somebody and

2:13.4

it was getting serious. And we were talking about getting married. And it just, just didn't really

2:19.7

work out. And I, we broke up. And I was like, I got to just go. I feel like I just need to leave

2:25.9

town. So I packed up my car and I drove to Nashville. And I never came back. And here we are.

2:33.9

Oh, sorry. Sure. Obviously there's a lot more to it, but long, sorry, short. I didn't know. I just
