Everyone in the Growney family was very close to one another. The children all lived

happy lives, always had food on the table, and were always provided for. They weren't

the perfect family. Brenda had struggled with addictions of her own and they occasionally

ran low on money, but they were happy nonetheless. May 13th, 2005 was a normal day for their

Growney family. It was a Friday afternoon, Brenda was mowing the front lawn, and Chasta

and Dillum were starting their weekend by swimming in the front yard. It was the type

of day that every eight and nine-year-old looked forward to. Nothing to do, nowhere to go,

just having fun. But the children were blissfully unaware that while they were laughing and

splashing each other and enjoying their weekend, evil was watching them from a car in the distance.

The man in the car was a sex offender from Fargo, North Dakota. He had previously been

driving through Montana, praying on children, observing from a distance, desperately searching
