Today I've got an awesome guest.

It's Dr. Megan Rossi from the UK. She goes by the gut doctor and is

considered one of the most influential gut specialists in the entire world and she's a dietician and a nutritionist. She spent the past decade

really working on helping people get healthy. She is a researcher at the

Kings College in London, England where she specializes in

gut health, prebiotics, probiotics, dietary fiber, and just helping transform

the health of our microbiomes and she has a new book out which she's going to

tell you about here in just a little bit but wanted to say welcome Megan welcome

to the show. Thanks so much for having me Josh. Hey no problem. So I know we're going to dig in and talk a lot about

gut health today so maybe we'll talk about everything from leaky gut to acid reflux you know, any type of gut issue.

But before we dive in and I'd really love to hear from you

how you got started in your field and really what drove you towards doing your research and writing your book on

on gut and digestive health. Yeah so I was raised in a farm in Australia so I'm an

Ozzy girl hence hence the accent.

So good cut help was certainly inherent in my upbringing.

We, you know, lived off fresh fruit and vegetables,

I paid in the dirt, and all that sort of stuff but I guess my first conscious encounter with the

gut was just over a decade ago when I was in my final year of nutrition and dietetics and I lost my grandma's about cancer and I still did

this day vividly remember hating her hating her, hating that so so much for putting my grandma

through the surgery, the chemo and later losing her because she
