0:13.1	I am your guest host for today. And I am eager to get into the headlines today because it is just one way that I cope with the daily onslaught of horror
0:23.5	yapping. So Donald Trump woke up this morning and decided that his first priority should be
0:30.2	using the office of the presidency and the power of his platform to bully a trans child.
0:37.4	Imagine that. You wake up and the president of the United States
0:41.4	is riling up his unhinged supporters against you as a child. Or if you are a parent against your
0:50.1	child. He's also specifically calling out California governor Gavin Newsom in his post on
0:57.1	truth social, which, which we will get to in a minute. The context for all of this is, aside from
1:04.9	the Republican Party's open, eager, and unceasing bigotry is Donald Trump's executive order banning trans women and girls
1:14.0	from participation in women's sports that he signed back in February. I'm sure after calling
1:20.0	Will Sharf up to his side to explain it like he does with all of his executive orders, you guys
1:25.7	have noticed this, right? He can't explain executive
1:28.9	orders he's about to sign. He can't explain executive orders he's already signed. He needs
1:35.3	will to come over and explain very carefully what is going on at all times. Again, paging Jake
1:43.0	Tapper. But Trump's executive order cites Title IX, noting that
1:48.5	schools receiving federal funds cannot discriminate against women, cannot deny them an equal opportunity
1:55.1	to participate in sports. And so his announcement today is a threat to California's federal funding that if the state refuses to comply with his executive order, Trump views his executive orders as essentially royal decrees, which should immediately be followed as new laws.

2:19.7	works, since that's not how things work. And if you step out of line, you get threatened. So
