Hey everyone, Nick here. You are about to listen to our 2021 award show, or a segment of it anyways.

0:06.1

As an audio listener, please note that this was recorded in one night, but I've broken it up into

0:10.5

five separate parts, five separate mini episodes. Each one of these episodes will feature about

0:15.8

four to five categories, and I'll be releasing them one a day starting on January 31st, 2022.

0:26.0

We hope you enjoy and are inspired to maybe try or revisit some of these games that we talk about here.

0:31.7

Even more so, we hope you join us in Discord in 2022 for what is shaping up to be an awesome year.

0:35.9

You can, of course, find us at Discord.g.g. slash 4 player.

0:40.7

But for now, let's cap off 2021 in style. This segment starts in three, two, one. All right, guys, welcome back to part three of our 2021 award show.

1:00.5

In this segment, we're going to be doing Best debut, or you can read that as New IP.

1:07.3

Best looking game, either aesthetically or technically, whatever it is, best world slash level design, and best storytelling.

1:14.9

This is some of my favorite categories here.

1:17.2

So why don't we kick things off with our best debut?

1:21.3

Brad, what is your runner up?

1:22.6

I've come to really dislike best debut because I don't really understand it.

1:26.6

I think it's something we should change in the future. It's too late now. I mean, it's also hard to think about it because I tend to think about best debut in terms of like, is this a debut as in like, is this franchise going to continue? Or is this likely to be a one off-man? I sort of like turned it into that to make it interesting, I guess, but really it's just new IP, right? Yeah, or a new developer, right? Highlight. Well, these aren't new developers, but whatever. I'm going to name two indie games that I really enjoyed this year that are new IP. That I guess I wouldn't, I'd appreciate more of. My runner-up is chicory. I love that game and I love that world. And if I could spend more time in that world, I absolutely will. So please, please make a sequel. Can I ask a question, Brad? And I know this runner-up, and we've already talked about it a little bit. I don't get it. We'll get into it. We'll get into it. Don't worry. If Chikri comes up one more time tonight, just one more time, I'm buying. You're the perfect audience for that, too. You talked me out of it, you, motherfucker. No, no, no, not you. No, said me, not you Oh You like tormented souls

2:34.8

It's definitely not for me

2:36.2

I like tormented souls

2:38.4

So therefore I can't like chickery

2:39.9

Aren't you like practicing like reverse psychology

2:42.4

On Nick by telling him it's a game that's not for him

2:44.6

No, I just wanted him to seek out something

2:47.5

I knew he would appreciate more
