How I saw the business end of that game between the 49ers and the Bears.

Some people in a world of vilification need to tear people down.

So I saw some sentiment on social media that, well, that's on Caleb Williams.

What game were you watching?

I had flashbacks, and maybe this was lazy analysis given the opponent,

rolling out, looking and looking and looking,

the 49er historian and me, and just a football fan is thinking,

is this going to be the catch against the Niners?

Now, albeit Candlestick is gone.

Caleb Williams did all he could to extend that play and fired into the end zone incomplete. And it felt fitting that game in which defense was completely optional came down to the final possession.
