Good morning and welcome to 49ers in 5, your daily update on everything happening with the team that you need to know.

I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Wednesday, November 5th, 2025. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers. The trade deadline has come and gone

and the Niners stood pat. John Lynch and the Brain Trust decided to not make any more trades,

despite names like Jermaine Johnson and Bradley Chubbs still being available. Now there are

reasonable justifications for not making those moves.

The Jets reportedly wanted a second round pick for Johnson, who, yes, had a Pro Bowl year with

Robert Sala in 2023, but was also coming off a torn Achilles last season.

The Dolphins also had a high asking price for Bradley Chubb, who has two

torn ACLs in his career, including most recently, in 2023. And oh, by the way, nobody else

traded for those guys either or Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals. And don't forget this.

The Niners don't really have a ton of draft capital

next year. They have their own picks in the first three rounds. They have a pick in the fourth

round, but that could end up going to the Eagles if Bryce Huff hits certain incentives this year.

And after that, they're counting on three compensatory picks at the end of the fourth round,

plus a conditional seventh round pick from the New England Patriots.

So for a team that is once again going to have to restock the cupboard with young cheap players,

trading away those assets was just too high a price.

And by the way, it's not as if John Lynch hasn't made trades this

season, right? He traded for Brian Robertson. He traded for Sky Moore. He traded for Bryce Huff.

And he traded for Keon White last week. And by doing so, actually got an extra game out of him

against the Giants. So I understand the frustration of 49ers fans. I really do.
