0:13.2	I'm Rob Stats-Garera. Today is Monday, March 4th, 2024. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.

0:22.0	The new defensive coordinator will be Nick Sorenson, who gets the promotion after being
0:27.9	the defensive passing game coordinator and Nickelback's coach last season.
0:32.6	Before coming to San Francisco, Sorensen spent time as the special teams coach for the Jacksonville
0:38.6	Jaguars. And before that, he spent eight years with Pete Carroll in Seattle. So he's obviously
0:45.1	very familiar with the system the 49ers like to run. He has never, however, called defensive
0:51.7	plays before. If that makes you nervous, take a deep breath.
0:55.8	You might not have to worry because the 49ers are also going to hire Brandon Staley,
1:00.5	former Chargers head coach, to be the assistant head coach.
1:04.5	Staley was also a defensive coordinator with the Rams in 2020.
1:07.7	When the Rams were first in points allowed and first in yards allowed.
1:12.7	He's going to be the assistant head coach, as I said, replacing Anthony Lynn, also a former
1:17.5	Chargers head coach who went to Washington to be with Adam Peters.
1:21.2	There has been no word yet from the team about Staley's official duties.
1:26.1	And they're really under no obligation to have a press conference
1:28.4	of any kind, so we may not hear from them until the league meetings later this month.
1:32.5	The common belief, however, is that he'll be assisting Nick Sorensen with the defense.
