I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Monday, September 29th, 2025. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.

The Niners turned the ball over four times and allowed a punt return for a touchdown for good measure

in a frustrating 26 to 21 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Brock Purdy had the ball in his hands with 332 left in the game,

but fumbled it away on the second snap of the drive after a strip by

our old friend Eric Armstead. The fumble was Brock's third turnover of the day, which he was

obviously upset about afterwards. We can't do it. The NFL, and it starts with me. You know,

throwing better balls and being smart with the ball. And so I think it really starts there. And I just got to be better. But outside of that, as an offense, it's something that we harp on every single day. And our team knows it. Offense needs to protect the ball. Defense needs to go take it. Like, that's our thing. And so today, the offense, we just, we didn't succeed in that area.

So it hurts.

It's the NFL man.

If you give the ball away like that, teams are going to capitalize on it.

And Jaguars did.

Including the playoffs, Brock Purdy has led 26 drives in the fourth quarter or overtime in a one-score game. He has led scoring drives nine times in that situation and turned it over

eight times in his career, and the 49ers are four and 11 in those games. Part of the reason they

struggled, they could not run the football. Christian McCaffrey had 49 yards on 17 carries.

That's less than three yards per attempt. Kyle Shinnahan, why can't you guys run it? Not enough explosives, really. I mean, we're getting an extremely heavy two-shell defenses, and I would have thought we would have done better today because you get heavy two-shell defenses. You can't get a big explosive run. Usually comes down to third down.

And that's why we struggled out the week before. But I thought we did real well on third down today.

We should have kept us out there and kept us going. That's what's so frustrating with the

turnovers that we had. The Niners have not even averaged four yards per carry in any game this
