0:13.3	I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Friday, March 1st, 2024. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.
0:21.3	Remember yesterday when I told you that the Niners were going to interview Chiefs
0:24.7	defensive backs coach Dave Merritt to be their defensive coordinator.
0:28.8	Well, things just got a little more interesting.
0:32.5	Last week, Merritt was a guest on the Sports Shop radio show and he was talking about how Steve Wilkes was fired by the 49ers.
0:41.5	His overall point during this comment was that Wilkes wasn't fired because of the Super Bowl,
0:48.0	that there had to be something else going on in order for the Niners to make the change.
0:53.3	And let's just say he wasn't shy about expressing that.
0:57.0	Wilkes even himself is looking at this as a blessing.
