1:19.7	The Well, from the ribbed one.
1:25.4	It was the summer of 1995.
1:32.7	I was 17 years old, visiting my 18-year-old friend Jack in Nebraska during our summer break from high school.
1:34.5	His family had invited me to stay at his aunt's farmhouse, which had been in their family
1:38.9	for generations.
1:40.8	The property sprawled across acres of dense woods, and the two of us would often spend our days exploring those woods, basically getting into the kind of mischief teenage boys excel at.
1:53.5	One very humid afternoon that I remember, we decided to venture deep into the woods, going farther than we had before.
2:02.2	Jack's cousin Sarah, who was a few years older than us, and home from college for the summer,
2:07.7	had told us about an old trail that supposedly led to an abandoned homestead deep in the forest.
2:14.4	She had never been able to find it herself, but she had heard stories from her grandpa about the family that used to live there back in the early 1900s.
