Hi Chris in the whole tangentially speaking community. This is Mike also known as Ride

Farm Swing on the subreddit of tangentially speaking. I'm calling in from a beautiful

piece of land just south of the Niemel DC on Vancouver Island Canada. I can only be

described as the nicest part of Canberra in an area in transition where I'm standing

at one point was beautiful pristine land occupied by the First Nations and then it was

taken over and logged in the 1800s and then turned into a gravel pit in the 1980s and

then after the gravel was fully extracted the area started to regrow naturally with

first series succession plants of cottonwood trees and then I took it over and now I've

been building it with my partner into a lifeboat that we really hope to continue helping the

community with. I was commenting on how I was a little remiss that I wouldn't be able

to fit in doing our orchard expansion this year due to other financial constraints and

Chris said and generously offered to help purchase the trees for the expansion which was just

the wildest thing that's happened to me on the internet and all my life which is an early

or late vintage millennial it's been a while so but yeah it's pretty amazing Chris and

all of the tangentially speaking community members who are donating to the podcaster are

helping build an orchard on this land and I'm ever thankful for it. We always give away

almost all of our produce that we don't use ourselves the whole factor of being a business

just really isn't in our whole way of life so I just wanted to say thank you and this

podcast has inspired me and the Reddit community that the podcast brings about is some of the

most interesting conversations where it is such a rare thing to have somebody get upset and
