in the land of Israel at a time when the people of God were

were dominated, was subjugated by the enemies.

Sometimes the church today,

they feel like they can't handle the tide

of the world that has swept into the church. They feel like they're losing

their teenagers, they are the children to the world. They feel like the values

and and the and the philosophy of the world has come in and come in strong and we feel we

feel besieged we feel like we are surrounded we feel that we are hemmed in by the

world well that's how Israel feels in this story. At this point in time

the Philistines have oppressed Israel and their numbers keep on growing and

and they are taking more and more lands. And this was just before the story of David and Goliath.
