Could we just start by hearing a little bit about

your background and career? Sure. So I'm a general pediatrician born and raised in Miami, Florida.

I went to medical school here. I trained here at the county hospital. And after my training, I practiced in private practice for almost nine years.

And then decided I wanted to go back into academics and public health.

And so I returned as a faculty member at the University of Miami, where I lead community-based

pediatrics programs.

I run a pediatric mobile clinic program, which provides comprehensive health care to uninsured

children throughout Miami-Dade County.
