Today, the three epistles of John and the epistle of Jude.

This lesson is a real treat. These epistles from John, this first one especially, it's a gem in the scriptural canon.

In fact, one of these chapters in here, chapter four,

it's on my short list.

At the beginning of my scriptures,

I have a list that says,

On a bad day, read,

and then I have seven chapters of scripture

that for me just really feed my soul. Well, First John, chapter four,

happens to be one of those chapters on this list. So I'm excited. And chapter one through five,

all of them, this is a powerful, powerful epistle from one of the Savior's closest apostles, the beloved apostle,

John. In fact, there's some incredible connections that you're going to find as you study

1st John between what you read here and what you read in his gospel, especially the last few chapters.

So John 13 through 17, a lot of those same themes, they're going to get picked up here and spoken of in powerful ways.

So this is an incredible week that we get to study. So two major themes you

could look for is how God is defined as the God of love and the God of light. And you find
