Yeah, I used to have a boss who I was fine working for him when I didn't have to deal with him.

I would just do my job and then every now and then,

he would invite me to dinner and I would always, I couldn't even figure out why.

I always felt bad about myself after the dinner.

And so my technique for dealing with toxic people is to just simply cut them out of my life completely.

You were a little more gentle in your seven ways to deal with toxic people.

I wonder if some of your ideas, by the way, this could be a boss, this could be a relationship,

this could be a friendship.

Some situations you have to deal with a person like a boss.

Some situations you can distance yourself like a friendship, but what are the ideas?

So you know one like if it's somebody lets say it's your mother-in-law who happens to be this person.

And then you think well if you were to cut your mother-in-law out of your life and cause relationship problems.

So you don't want to do that, but at the same time you don't want to have this person taking a toll on your life.

So then it's about saying okay, you can't set a physical boundary necessarily, but you set an emotional one.

So when we run into these toxic people sometimes we complain about them.

Right? You dread seeing them so you spend four hours dreading that you have to see them.

And then after you saw them you spend four more hours thinking you wish you hadn't seen them.
